Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(Judg. 1:16) (place of wild donkeys) — a city on the southern border of Palestine, whose king prevented the children of Israel from passing through his territory and even took some of them captive (Num. 21:1–3), for which the inhabitants of the city were cursed, and the city itself destroyed. According to Robinson, this is the present-day Tell Arad — a hill located eight hours’ journey south of Hebron.
