Beth-anath

(house of answer) (Josh. 19:38; Judg. 1:33) — a city in the tribe of Naphtali, which nevertheless could not drive out the ancient inhabitants of the city, the Canaanites. According to Eusebius, it was formerly called Batanea, was located 15 Roman miles east of Caesarea (of Dicaesarea), and was famed for its healing medicinal springs. No trace of the city now remains, except perhaps in the settlement of Ainata.
