Brook Cherith Chorrath
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(1 Kings 17:3–7)—the wadi east of the Jordan beside which Elijah hid after announcing drought to King Ahab. Ravens brought him bread and meat morning and evening, and he drank from the brook. When it dried up, the word of the LORD sent him to the widow of Zarephath, whose flour and oil were preserved through the famine. The brook’s exact location is uncertain.
