Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(Matt. 11:21; Luke 10:13)—a Galilean town near Bethsaida and Capernaum. Jesus performed mighty works there, yet its inhabitants did not repent; therefore He pronounced the lament, “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida!” and declared that Tyre and Sidon would have repented in sackcloth and ashes if they had seen such works.
