Christian Hope

—one of the chief Christian virtues, is the repose of the heart in God, with the assurance that He unceasingly cares for our salvation and grants us the blessedness that has been promised. Christian hope is founded upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who, in the word of the Apostle Paul, is our hope (1 Tim. 1:1). “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ,” says the Apostle Peter (1 Pet. 1:13).
The means for the acquiring of saving hope are the following: prayer and the true teaching concerning blessedness, together with actual adherence to that teaching.
