The source supplies an extended interpretive paraphrase of the Lord’s words after the Last Supper. Jesus comforts the troubled disciples: they are to believe in God and in Him; He goes to prepare a place and will return to receive them. He is “the way, and the truth, and the life,” and whoever has seen Him has seen the Father because the Son is in the Father and the Father in the Son (John 14:1–11). Those who believe will continue His works; they are to ask in His name and keep His commandments.
