Dibon-gad Daebon Gad

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(Num. 32:45, 46) — one of the camps of the Israelites in the land of Moab during their 40-year wandering. This place is undoubtedly identical with Dibon, but why it is called “of Gad,” and when it received this designation, is difficult to determine. Most likely it received its name from having been rebuilt by the sons of Gad.

Scripture cited
