Migdol
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(tower) (Exod 14:2; Num 33:7) — between Migdol and the Red Sea the Israelites camped before their crossing of the Red Sea. It must have lain near the northern tip of the sea and near the western shore, but its exact location is unknown, nor can it be said with certainty whether it was a city or a tower. In the books of the prophet Jeremiah (44:1; 46:14) and Ezekiel (29:10), a different Migdol seems to be indicated, situated some 20 Roman miles south of Pelusium.
