(my princess; princess of a multitude)—the name of three women in Scripture. (1) (Gen. 11:29; 20:12) the wife of Abraham. She accompanied him when he left his homeland, and thereafter her history is closely joined with his. Their home had been Ur of the Chaldees. She was exceedingly beautiful and, during the famine that brought them to Egypt, was taken into Pharaoh’s household but delivered by God (Gen. 12).
