—the name of three persons in the source: (1) (2 Esd. 9:34; compare Ezra 10:39) an Israelite among the sons of Bani. (2) (Jer. 36:14) an ancestor of Jehudi, who lived in Jehoiakim’s reign. (3) (Jer. 36:25) an ancestor of one of the men whom Jehoiakim ordered to seize Jeremiah and Baruch after the prophetic scroll had been burned. See also Shelemiah.
