The Nicolaitans

(Rev. 2:6-15)—an ancient sect, whose immoral teaching is severely denounced in Holy Scripture. Some have supposed that this name is symbolic, that “Nicolas,” in its literal meaning, corresponds to “Balaam,” and that by it are meant all false teachers like Balaam, drawing people into idolatry and impurity.
