The osprey
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(Lev. 11:13, Deut. 14:12)—one of the birds of prey classed as unclean in the Law of Moses. This bird (Falco haliaeetus, Linnaeus) may properly be called fish-eating, and is therefore found only near seas, lakes, rivers, and, in general, all waters abounding in fish. Various species of the osprey are frequently found in almost all parts of the world.
