Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(from the Hebrew Achyo, brotherly) — the name of three persons mentioned in Holy Scripture: a) (2 Sam. 6:3, 4) son of Abinadab, who together with his brother Uzzah was charged by David to carry the Ark of the Covenant from Kirjath-jearim to Jerusalem; b) (1 Chron. 8:14) a Benjamite, one of the sons of Beriah, who drove the Canaanites out of Gath; c) (1 Chron. 8:31) a Benjamite, son of Jeiel, founder of Gibeon.
