Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(brother of goodness) — the name of the following four persons: a) (1 Sam. 14:3) son of Phinehas and grandson of the high priest Eli. Some think that he succeeded Eli in the office of high priest; b) (1 Chron. 6:8) son of Amariah and father of the high priest Zadok; c) (2 Esdras 8:2) a high priest in the genealogy of Ezra; d) (1 Chron. 9:11) father of Meraioth, of the ancestors of Seraiah, or Azariah.
