(height, hill; perhaps places consecrated to the worship of Baal) (1 Kings 4:16). By this name is understood a region in the upper part of the tribe of Asher, forming the northernmost border of the kingdom of Israel; it was under the charge of Baana, one of the twelve officers who provided food for Solomon and his household, each for one month of the year.
