(well of the Living One who seeth me) (Gen. 16:14) — a spring located between Kadesh and Bared, in the wilderness on the road to Shur, in southern Palestine. It was so named by Hagar, when she was at this spring, because God saw her in that place. At this same spring lived Isaac, both during his father’s lifetime and after it (Gen. 24:62; 25:11). It is thought that the site of the well was located at the present-day hamlet of Moyle, on the way to Beeroth, near which is a cave bearing the name Beit Hajar.
