Censer

(Lev 10:1) - one of the sacred vessels of the tabernacle and temple, used for burning incense on especially solemn occasions. Incense was ordinarily offered upon the golden altar (Rev 8:3-4), where the priest burned it before the LORD morning and evening (Exod 30:1-9). On the great Day of Atonement, however, the high priest went behind the veil into the Holy of Holies and burned fragrant incense in a golden censer (Lev 16:12-13), carrying live coals in one hand and incense in the other.
Korah, Dathan, Abiram, and their 250 companions apparently used censers made according to the prescribed form when they appeared at the entrance of the tabernacle (Num 16:18). Revelation 5:8 calls them golden bowls full of incense.
