Cush

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(black)—(1) the Benjaminite named in the superscription of Psalm 7. Scripture gives no further certain information about him; the source conjectures that he may have served Saul in persecuting David. (2) In Judith 7:18, a locality opposite Ekrebel near the brook Mochmur, occupied by Edomites and Ammonites from Holofernes’ camp; its identification is uncertain. (3) The land or people of Cush, from which exiles would be gathered (Isa. 11:11).
