(a word, in the opinion of some, Egyptian, meaning: theft, plunder) (1 Kings 11:20) — the name of a certain Edomite whose father Hadad was of noble lineage, and whose mother was the sister of Queen Tahpenes, wife of Pharaoh, who reigned in Egypt in the last years of David’s reign; he was raised and lived in Pharaoh’s palace together with his sons (1 Kings 11:19–21 [as given]).
