Mystical Supper; Last Supper

(Matt. 26:17-30; Mark 14:12-26; Luke 22:7-38; John 13-17)—Jesus’ final meal with his disciples before the Passion. He sent Peter and John to prepare the Passover in a furnished upper room, identified by following a man carrying a jar of water. At the table Jesus declared that he had earnestly desired to eat this Passover before suffering and that its fulfillment lay in the kingdom of God.
