(Gen. 10:7)—a son of Cush and father of Sheba and Dedan. The name occurs again in Ezekiel 27:22 with Sheba and is treated there as connected with Dedan, already mentioned in verses 12 and 15. The source concludes that the descendants of Sheba and Dedan lived near the Persian Gulf, possessed rich merchandise and products, and carried on substantial trade with Tyre.
