Timnath-serah Thamnasarach

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(Josh. 19:50; 24:30; Judg. 2:9)—the town in the hill country of Ephraim granted to Joshua, where he built, lived, and was buried, north of Mount Gaash. It is also called Timnath-heres. The source reports nineteenth-century proposals identifying it with villages and ancient tombs near Tibneh and Kifl Haris; the exact archaeological identification remains debated.
