—(1) a son of Japheth (Gen. 10:2; 1 Chron. 1:5); (2) a people named with Javan and Meshech in trade with Tyre, exchanging human beings and bronze vessels (Ezek. 27:13), and later associated with Gog’s northern coalition (Ezek. 38:2; 39:1). Tubal is commonly connected with peoples of Anatolia, but the biblical name should not be equated mechanically with a modern nation.
