Waters of Dimon

(Isa. 15:9) — it is not known what river is meant by this name. Some suppose it to be the Arnon, while others take it for a small river which, flowing through the chief cities of Moab, emptied eastward into the Dead Sea. It seems that this name is used in the passage in place of the word “Dibon.” Whatever river is meant, however, according to the prophecy its waters were to “be full of blood”… and further, the land through which it flowed was to be laid waste — and this prophecy was in due time literally fulfilled.
