(Isa. 15:2) — a place in the land of Moab. The word bayith means a house or shrine of the Moabite idols, and may refer not only to a city but also to the shrine in question. “He, that is, Moab,” says the passage cited, “is gone up to Bayith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep.” Nothing is presently known of its location.
