(bearer of a burden) — the name of four persons: a) (1 Chron. 6:25) a Levite, one of the sons of Elkanah, of the chiefs over the singers, under whose command were 200,000 outstanding warriors [note: this detail belongs to entry b) below in the source]; b) (1 Chron. 12:18) one of the mighty men of the tribe of Judah who went over to David at Ziklag; c) (1 Chron. 15:24) one of the priests, in the days of David; d) (2 Chron. 29:12) father of Mahath, of the Levites, under King Hezekiah.
