Ahimoth Achimoth

Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(brother of death) (1 Chron. 6:25) — a Levite of the descendants of Kohath, son of Elkanah. It is thought that this is the same person called Mahath in verse 35. Ahimoth, however, lived in the days of David, while Mahath, in the aforementioned passage, is represented as living in the days of Hezekiah.
