—(1) a concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son, and mother of Amalek (Gen. 36:12; 1 Chron. 1:36); (2) a sister of Lotan the Horite (Gen. 36:22; 1 Chron. 1:39); (3) Timnah, a town in the hill country or Shephelah of Judah associated with Judah’s sheep-shearers and his encounter with Tamar (Gen. 38:12-14; Josh. 15:57). The personal and place names share the same traditional form but should not be conflated.
