Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

—the seventh month of the religious calendar and first month of the later Jewish civil year, falling in September–October. Its festivals include the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Booths. In the older biblical nomenclature the month is called Ethanim, and Solomon’s Temple was dedicated in that month (1 Kings 8:2). See Ethanim.
