Tahpenes Thekemina
Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia
(1 Kings 11:19–20)—queen of Egypt in the time of David and Solomon. Pharaoh gave her sister in marriage to Hadad the Edomite; Tahpenes weaned their son Genubath in Pharaoh’s house, where he was raised among the royal children. The proposal that her name was also that of an Egyptian goddess is uncertain.
