Archimandrite Nikifor’s Biblical Encyclopedia

(2 Sam. 8:9-10; 1 Chron. 18:9-10)—king of Hamath and a contemporary of David. When he heard that David had defeated Hadadezer of Zobah, his longstanding enemy, Toi sent his son Joram—called Hadoram in Chronicles—to greet David and present articles of silver, gold, and bronze. David dedicated these gifts to the LORD together with the spoil of the nations he had subdued.
