(timely, life-giving, loving) — the name of the following persons: a) (1 Kings 4:14) father of Ahinadab; b) (2 Chron. 12:15) a seer and writer, contemporary of Solomon and his successors Rehoboam, Abijah, and Jeroboam; c) (Zech. 1:1, 7) grandfather of the prophet Zechariah; d) (1 Chron. 6:21) a Levite, son of Joah, father of Zerah; e) (Ezra 8:17) chief man in the place called Casiphia in the days of Ezra, before his departure from Babylon to Jerusalem; f) (1 Chron. 27:21) son of Zechariah, one of the chief men in Gilead in the reign of David; g) (Neh. 12:4–16) one of the chief priests who returned from captivity with Zerubbabel.
