Ancient kinship terminology, adoption, levirate relationship, or textual history may be involved, but Scripture does not supply a certain resolution (Ezra 3:2; Hag. 1:1; Matt. 1:12; Luke 3:27). (3) (1 Chron. 27:20) the father of Joel, leader of half the tribe of Manasseh.

(4) (Neh. 3:25) a son of Parosh who helped repair Jerusalem’s wall. (5) (Neh. 8:4) one of those standing beside Ezra when the Law was read. (6) (Neh. 11:7) a Benjaminite ancestor of Sallu. (7) (Neh. 13:13) one of the treasurers appointed over the storerooms.
